Guess who just flew in to town?


I'm very pleased to announce the safe arrival of Hay Hay it's Donna Day

A couple of weeks ago I got an email one evening from my good friend Barbara of Winosandfoodies. A lot of you will know Barbara, she gets a mention quite a bit on my blog from time to time. And as many of you will also know, Barbara is the blog mother of the food blogging Hay Hay it's Donna Day event. Affectionately known as HHDD.

In her email Barbara explained that she thought it was time to give HHDD her wings - let her fly. Barbara went to say she had given it a lot of thought and as she was embarking on several new personal projects, the time seemed right for HHDD to make the trip. However Barbara wanted to ensure HHDD landed somewhere safe, with someone she knew well and would promise to take good care of her and help her through any problems she may face. Barbara then went on to ask if I would be that person, would I be willing to adopt HHDD?

I was quite taken a back, surprised to say the least! I was and I still am extremely flattered to be to asked and given the honour. I know how hard this decision has been for Barbara, letting go of something so dear to your heart is never easy.

I have promised Barbara to love and cherish HHDD and treat her as my own. I will oversee the future of the HHDD event, I hope to help her grow and continue to go from strength to strength, I will be the caretaker behind the scenes of all aspects of future rounds, help the future hosts and participants with any questions or suggestions you might have.

Excitingly the Donna Hay food blogging event will celebrate it's 20th round in the coming weeks, we will know who the lucky host is when I announce the winner of The Clafoutis Edition Roundup on Monday the 12th of May. However before I pass the baton on, I hope to create a little questionnaire and survey, as I would love to get your feedback on a few questions to ensure the future success of HHDD. So please stay tuned for that one and in the meantime please don't forget to send me your vote for your favourite Clafoutis entry.
