We grow and encourage many flowers within our vegetable patch to attract the bees and beneficial insects,
but there are loads of other benefits too. Some we grow for companion planting, some are grown purely for their flower
or scent such as sweet peas and poppies. Others are the vegetables themselves that have run to seed. It all makes
for a very pretty, if rather wild and unkept looking garden. Which we all enjoy walking around, running our hands
through and watching the hive of insect activity as the wind jostles them about. A stark contrast to the acres on
acres of scary / boring barley crops next door, that have little to no life in it. Of course many of our flowers

Market,they know fish! Certainly much better than I do and I trust their opinion and advice. Not to
mention their fish is always amazingly fresh, so ideal for sashimi, ceviche or other light cures. But more than that,
they have a similar ethos regarding where and how the fish they sell are caught and treated. All important things to
consider. Yesterday I dropped in at lunchtime and picked up some lovely Blue Moki and a small piece of Hot Smoked
Tuna, that they themselves smoke naturally with Manuka - no funny additives and colours are added to their products. And this is what became of ...
A couple of weeks ago we had a few of centimetres of snow, not much, but it hung around long enough for our wee
man to experience making his first snow person, taste and fling a few handfuls towards his sisters. Of course any
play in the snow creates mega appetites so we were all very glad to come back inside for this Bowl of
