autumn 2010

It's well and truly Autumn here on the Mainland of New Zealand and it cannot be ignored that Winter is fast approaching.

Canterbury sure put on a beautiful and colourful show this year with little wet weather or winds to blow away the muted rainbow of leaves.

We've been making the most of this lingering warm dry weather, with walks in the park and my fairies happily adding to their Autumn treasure collections with chestnuts, acorns and more leaves.

At home we've been collecting the walnuts from our own tree and picking up the most precious apples from our much smaller yielding trees. All of which you will see are put to tasty use in this issue.

I would like to thank you all for the positive response to my new design and the Easter Issue and hope you enjoy these Autumn offerings just as much.

I am especially delighted to announce that the lovely Ilva happily agreed to be my first outside contributor - don't miss her comforting recipes from Tuscany.

You will notice, hidden amongst the pages, a few hints (broken links?!) of some of the posts still to appear in this issue. They should be filled out in the next few days and weeks before I bring you a 3rd issue in June.

Thank you once again for taking the time to visit and to those of you who share your thoughts with me also, I really appreciate it.
