What a great cake. I can feel the crunch of the buckle on top. Like you I would love to try it gluten free. I can't imagine a Christmas without chocolate, or apple desserts, how strange it would be for me to be there in this time of the year.

The term 'buckle' is new to me. I wonder where it has come from. I'm having dinner with The Old Foodie tonight and shall ask her. The cake looks very tempting Bron.....and I love rhubarb.

That sounds like a fun event but well I'm not from New Zealand..:) still I can enjoy all the goodies that come out of it! Your rhubarb streusel cake looks fantastic to begin with!

Don't think I've ever had a "buckle" before, but it looks pretty delicious. Love the combination of fruits, and I agree with you - hazelnuts are wonderful with berries, so would be great to try a gluten-free version.

Now, I must rustle up something for Sweet NZ.
