All I can say is I cannot take my eyes off the fairies. I absolutely adore the girls:-D & their dresses!! I myself is always hunting for same dresses for my girls.. but with their age difference right now it is kinda hard... it will get better in about 2 years I would think!

Ignorant me, but what is floury potatoes?

  • Thank you Soma,
the dresses are getting a bit short, however my fairies are very reluctant to give them up, haha

Floury potatoes are baking potatoes, good for mashing, roasting etc. such as Agria, Estima, King Edward, Maris Piper, Desiree
Waxy potatoes are the opposite, good cold for salads etc. such as Nadine, Kipfler, Charlotte, Maris Peer

Congrats on your win! You deserved it :)
Ah your girls...pretty enough to eat or dedicate a dessert to them (I think I just gave myself an idea for a future post).

  • Oh you are so sweet Helen the girls would adore that, thank you!

I was *wondering* what floury potatoes were -- had never heard that term, and neither had my Aussie wife. A NZ thing? But I figured you meant non-waxy potatoes, like our Idaho potatoes here in the States. Learn something new every day :)

    Adorable pictures!

  • Hi Giff,
no I don't think it is a NZ thing, I would have thought it as common as saying waxy potatoes. It's strange how we label things so differently, but yes floury potatoes are the non-waxy ones, good for baking, roasting, mashing. Thanks heaps for your comment!

Your fairies are absolutely adorable! And what wonderful ingredients they picked, I believe that the bucket must have been enchanted. Must participate this time, though I only have once or twice before.

Your girls are beautiful. :) I'll see if I can participate this round without becoming either a big liar or hypocrite. ;)

Bron your precious fairies are so adorably pretty!!! If I had fairies like that flitting around my place I would make them cupcakes everyday! :)

    hmmm...
Interesting theme. What to make for mum (& use her as a test bed for a Paper Chef entry)...

In the United states we refer to non-waxy/floury potatoes as starchy potatoes.

Your girls are just too cute. I especially love the red striped socks. Congratulations on winning the Paper Chef. If my little one lets me, I'll try to make something for it.

No, I didn't know you won. I'm so behind on my blog reading. That's awesome! Congratulations. I love your salmon dish. Sounds and looks really delicious.

I LOVE your fairies. So beautiful and helpful-looking. It will be fun to see the entries with the ingredients that you've choosen.
