Beautiful. The flavours sound delicious. Tartelette's recipe is the very first blog recipe I printed off. It sits at the front of my to do recipe book. And yet I still haven't worked up the courage to try making macarons. Wouldn't even attempt them this stupid oven here.

  • Thank you Barbara, they're fun to make, hope you get a chance to try them soon!

Bron, those look gorgeous and the taste combinations sounds fascinating! I'm about to post my first macarons on my blog next week and it took 10 attempts to get them just right and to really get to know my oven - one of the biggest secrets to good macarons. Oh, and a silicone sheet =)

PLUS, so nice to be able to put a face to the blog finally - loving the profile picture xxx

  • Super! I really look forward to seeing your macarons Mowie, I'm sure they're stunning! Thank you so much for your sweet words! xx

I know that I will never ever gain the confidence to try something like this! Yours are beautiful!

  • Thank you so much Pam! But you mustn't be scared, they're really quite fun and still perfectly edible with or without feet! ;-)

    Rosa

  • Hi Rosa, thank you!

Lime and chocolate is simply inspired! Like Barbara, I've had Helen's recipe printed for quite a while, but am still working up the nerve and finding the time to attempt it. Thanks for sharing your previous attempts with us as well. It's good to know that it takes trial and error to get these right.

  • Thank you Xiaolu, yes they take a little time to understand them, but they are definitely worth the effort! Thanks again for your lovely comment.

Bron, your macs look fantastic; I made them for the first time for the daring bakers challenge and was ecstatic when I found "feet"; will be posting some more next week! And it's great to see you :-)

  • Hi Sunita, I know! Isn't it a relief when you see those little feet through the oven door, hehe. Your macs look delicious too!

  • Sunita — Monday 7th December 2009 3:32 am

yum, Yum, YUM. I've been seeing these around for some time now and have been meaning to try them. I'll definitely have to make my own because although PN has several French bakeries I have not seen any macarons.
    You are an inspiration.

  • Hi Morven, yes do give them a go, sure they can be a little intimidating. Especially you haven't been able to try tasting them so as to know what to aim for, but I'm sure you can handle them! Thanks for your sweet comment.

  • Morven — Monday 7th December 2009 6:20 pm

Those look gorgeous, so you definitely should be making a 6th attempt! I am planning to make my 5th (or is it 4th) attempt tomorrow or the day after. Sofar I have had one good attempt and the rest was not so good looking as yours!

  • Thank you for your kind words Simone, I look forward to seeing yours

    And your macarons have legs.

  • I'm not sure I understand Bellini?
But, thank you and indeed they must have as they sure ran out the door fast! ;-)

  • Your macarons are warmly alight with deliciousness.

  • Thank you for these lovely words Cynthia

Gorgeous, Bron! And what courage! But aside from the fact that they are perfect macs, the milk chocolate - lime combo is definitely intriguing me. I also have lots of success with Helen's recipe and am having fun playing around with flavors. And so happy to see your beautiful face!

  • Thank you Jamie, the chocolate and lime combination is a huge favourite of mine, well anything with lime, I'm a lime fiend...hehe

  • Jamie — Tuesday 8th December 2009 7:46 pm

Oh I'd say you have 'THE KNACK' alright Bron...and it's shining through these gorgeous macs. I hope one day to get them right 'each time'. Love the citrus in there...very up my street!

    deeba — Saturday 12th December 2009 11:43 pm

Love to have you join the fun Bron...ooooh HAPPY FEET dance time! have you on our blogroll now!!

    deeba — Sunday 13th December 2009 3:43 am

Bron, just a lovely flavour. I also wanted to pick up one of your Jaffa versions that you posted on Flickr. I have a serious weakness for orange and chocolate. If it's any consolation, macarons are not that popular here in Brisbane, either. Those they are gaining a bit of a reputation now. You can buy them in a couple of places, but they pale on Laduree and Pierre Herme. I only use the Italian method for macarons. I think I may have to try this French one again. Inspired!

Bron, I love lime and chocolate together, as well as the colors, fantastic combination. I think your macs are adorable and am sure the fairies loved them as well!! I know the fairy running around our place snatched them all up & he blames me that he is weak!

G'day, I'm a new visitor, came over from the Mactweets round-up. Glad I did! Love your blog and the inspired macarons you've created. Cheers

    shaz — Sunday 20th December 2009 1:10 am

Not only are your macarons gorgeous, but the milk chocolate-lime combination is making my mouth water. Beautiful photos too! Have a wonderful holiday!

Feet! Feet everywhere!! I think they are ALL da bomb, but if given a choce you would have to fight me off the Jaffa ones with a stick. A large one! Very impressive foot skills - henceforth you shall be called Macaron Marshall!
