    There is a cupcake shop called Cupcake Collection on Colombo Street, darling daughter bought some when we visited her earlier in the year. They were iced and decorated beautifully, check it out.

    There are some really good cupcake shops here in Brisbane, and some really you-may-as-well-make-them-yourself cupcake shops, too. It's amazing the different. But all fun to test. :)

    The Cupcake Collection is amazing - I have to say I agree with your sentiments on the un-excitingness of the Cupcake Parlour's offerings, but the Cupcake Collection (though it's a teeny shop) has some beautifully decorated specimens, and offers more flavours than I've seen in the Cupcake Parlour on either of my visits there. :-)

    Although I hardly classify myself as a cupcake afficionado, I am with you on the flavours thing - live a little, people! Try out some new flavours! You do tend to see the same ones over and over again. That said, this looks like such a lovely, girly place for afternoon tea :)

    Hi Bronwyn, I own the little Cupcake Collection Shop in Beckenham and would love to see you here! We have around 12-16 flavours daily and try to mix them up so no-one gets bored. Before you head over we are currently being rebiult (at the same site) and should reopen early August. Hope to see you then.

    I agree with you! I never venture to the CupCake Parlour cause of everyone saying there isn't much choice! I go to Melbourne often and their cup cake stores are to die for! Then I come back home and The Cupcake Parlour bores me! It isn't a place I'd go to to get cupcakes for a friend that's for sure.

    I actually wanted to get some for my partner the other day and did a google and the cupcake collection shop looked amazing! But sadly ... I am out near Willow bank! So there is quite a distance to travel for cupcakes! None the less I decided on not getting any cause I just wasn't impressed with the cup cake parlour (i hate doing and giving 'boring' things .. it's sad that i don't know how to bake haha)

    I love the Cupcake Collection shop, their cakes are to die for. I love the Sticky Date one with the Russian Fudge Icing, it's out of this world! I went this morning (Saturday) just after 9 and sadly they weren't opened. I don't know if they are open on a Saturday and this was right after New year so they may have been on holiday. But I will be heading there on Monday to pick up my treat for the week.
