My husband just gave me a set of stainless steel tiffins as a gift, and I've been planning a picnic lunch to inaugurate them. Do you use yours for hot foods as well -- and if so, do they retain the heat? My boxes seem to have a good seal, so I'm planning a mix of hot and cold foods. Now I think that your carrot salad must be one of them!

Now if only my lunches were as exciting … something I need to work on! - isn't it amazing how when it comes to doing stuff for ourselves, we are happy to just be blah about it? :)

Bron I do really like both your tiffin and the carrot salad! My mom made a wonderful carrot salad and for some reason I never think to make it. Thanks for this one.

Hi Lydia, no we don't generally use our tiffins for hot foods, I'd suggest wrapping the outside with perhaps a thick towel to help insulate them if you do decide to try it. Thanks heaps for your comment, enjoy your new tiffin.

Thanks Cynthia, you're so right, bit of shame though isn't it?!

Thank you Tanna, it's very simple, but really rather nice.
