Bron, this looks fabulous! I have to admit that I'd love to try this but I have got a bit of a thing against frozen pastry (I tried buying frozen shortcrust pastry ONCE, used it as per instructions and tossed the lot in disgust), is puff pastry alright to buy frozen?

Hi Ellie and thank you! Yes, sure I'd agree frozen pastry isn't the absolute apex and I never buy short as it's so easy to make at home. Puff takes a bit more effort though and NZ's frozen puff pastry isn't too bad, no doubt it varies widely around the world. I don't buy the ready rolled sheets, but in blocks I roll myself.
