I really am totally overwhelmed Bron. I always thought food bloggers were the best and they are. I am so proud to be a part of such a special group of people. Everytime I see peonies I think of the bunch that arrived in Auckland via a NZ post bag that year. It made me laugh to think of how you posted them after picking them from your garden......and how much longer they lasted than the expensive bunch from the florist.

The sushi in a glass looks wonderful and today I have an appetite and would really enjoy it.

Thank you so much for your kindness and love and the special friendship we share. I think I need to go buy tissues now. Hugs Bron.

How utterly bright and beautiful - just like Barbara, just like you, Bron. I only wish I could smell the peonies. Thanks for organizing this. xxoo

A hug in a martini glass - what could be finer!
I'm always delighted to see how somebody can take the know, twist it and give it new life.
Beautiful Hug!

Thank you Bron for including me in such a wonderful and caring group of women. This is decadent and healthy and gorgeous at the same time! Just gorgeous!

I can't grow peony here, Bron... sigh. No matter how hard I tried, it won't grow. Not much cold, do you think? A stem of love. Lovely, Bron! And yes, thank you for including me in this event.

That peony could not be lovelier, Bron. Nor could this event. What a beautiful way to send some love to Barbara. Thank you for including me.

Thank you so much everyone, I've had the best weekend, I've totally enjoyed everyone's unique, loving and genuine "hugs" for our dear Barbara - I will reply better to each of you tomorrow, as for now I'm falling asleep at my keyboard after a big day in the garden.

Thank you again

A beautiful hug for a beautiful person...from a beautiful person! Thank you to you and Ilva for organizing this wonderful round of virtual hugs!

I love sushi but I have never seen them served in a martini glass before...so elegant! The peony is gorgeous too!

joey — Monday 8th December 2008 3:40 am

I made my own personal 'hug' in the form of a bread pudding, I know its not quite the season for you all to be enjoying that kind of food, but it is enormously comforting! This is a wonderful idea.

jenny — Monday 8th December 2008 3:45 am
