NZBBP - thank you Jules!

Take a look what I got!

NZBBP - thank you Jules!

Jules sent me these yummy treats for our first New Zealand Blogging by Post

… a box of gorgeous Loukoumi Turkish Delight made in Wellington to a traditional recipe (no gelatin!) in a mixture of yummy flavours, my favourite has been a citrus/orange so far, mmm mmm!

Some Zany Zeus Fetta, which I’m very much looking forward to crumbling over some fresh homemade pasta tonight.

The Rocket Fuel sauce will be perfectly delicious with our bbqs in the next couple of weeks, however I’m thinking I might just have to try some with a slice or two of cheese and some salad for my lunch today.

Jules also sent me some of his favourite locally roasted coffee beans, “The Right Stuff” from Coffee Supreme, some of which I ground this morning for my morning cup, yummy and no doubt will be perfect with a couple of choccy biscuits later today too!

And finally a bottle of his Homemade Vanilla bean infused Lemonade syrup, to be diluted in soda water. The syrup is a delightful yellow colour flecked with vanilla seeds, it looks and smells beautiful, best of all it sounds the perfect thing to have in hand whilst I lie on my new lounger (Hey Santa, hope you’re reading this!) and watch the sun go down behind the mountains at the end of another scorching NW Canterbury day!

Thanks heaps Jules!!
Thanks also to Emma for organizing us all!

Cheers
Bron

  1. Turkish delight! Yum! I have never heard of citrus orange flavor before but I guess there is no stopping with all the possible combinations. My favorite has always been rose flavored. It is the perfect companion for Turkish coffee.

  3. A lovely parcel Bron. Emma sent me some of the same feta - it is delicious. We had it in salads and I stuffed some peppadew with it.

  8. Yes, I am a lucky girl indeed!
The Turkish Delight didn’t last very long at all!
Half the feta was enjoyed with our pasta last night, may enjoy some more tonight with some roasted peppers and chicken.
    As for the syrup…
Jules included no exact recipe measurements or ratio for the Lemonade syrup, purely the ingredients, lemon - juice and rind and pips! ;-) sugar and vanilla bean.
I’d play around and mix to taste, as all lemons differ in taste anyway, otherwise best to ask Jules himself!
    Thanks heaps for your comments!!
