A lunch from back in warmer days - remind me to share the recipe with you and tell you about it!
Tuesday 7th April 2009Blackberries Artichokes Bulgar SalmonWhat do you get when four unlikely ingredients collide into a recipe?
One of my favourite food blogging events, yet sadly it’s been a while since I’ve participated. I’ll often buy the ingredients in the hope of producing something on time, only to fail at the last curtain call. The previous list of ingredients pulled from the hat were; anchovy, polenta, mint and figs; which had me dreaming up a dish of “Sticky Figgy Lamb Ribs with Grilled Polenta Chips.” I only got to the planning stage, the recipe never made it to the plate, let alone this little blog. For the 25th round of Hay Hay it’s Donna Day and to kick off the event in 2009 we had double the fun!! The ever delightful and talented Meeta hosted with a scrumptious savoury Donna Hay recipe - Chicken Satay Friday 5th December 2008A Hug in a Cocktail GlassIt’s time to let the “cat out of the bag” so to speak; with my partner in crime Ilva of Luculllian Delights. Together we have been organising the spreading of a little love;; Who are these virtual hugs for you ask?… Monday 10th March 2008Holding on to Summer with Barbecued Chilli, Lemongrass and Ginger Whole Snapper
It may officially be Autumn and it’s true my shoes are getting a little soppy with the heavy dew in the grass on our morning walks now, but I’m holding onto Summer with all my might, and taking advantage of the last few days and week of daylight savings. I have to be honest I’ve never really understood “daylight savings” I mean where’s the saving? Who’s saving? I guess young children are saved a little from earlier bedtimes as evening meals tend to be later… but honestly, does it really make that much of a difference? There’s always going to be more hours of evening sunlight in the Summer, that’s why they call it Summer and if people crave that much more light in the evenings, why isn’t daylight saving on all year round? Wouldn’t it make more sense to have some extra light in the Winter evenings as well? Sunday 17th February 2008We Love - Fillets of Sole Meunière - Too Actually
And we are in good company - it was also a favourite of Julia Child’s. It was on Julia’s first visit to France in 1948 with her husband Paul that she discovered the delights of French food. The tastes and textures that surrounded her on this visit were to change her life forever. The 37 year old was simply and utterly seduced by French Food - “I knew that French food was it for me. I couldn’t get over how absolutely delicious it was.” | ||||||
