It's hard to believe we are already into the second week of December and our Advent calendars. I made this one before my first fairy was born, 24 little calico socks with gold numbers and ribbons. It wasn't particularly well made and I'm somewhat embarrassed, I even cringe at it at times. But my fairies adore it and would be very disappointed if it was to disappear or be replaced, so I try to embrace it and think about how I've grown to be slightly more skilled and a lot more patient since I made it. Each morning my girls race to see what is in the day's little sock, they believe "Christmas Angels" bring the treats of sweets, hair clips, ribbons and Christmas craft supplies such as glitter, sequins and stickers. It's wonderful to see the excitement build in their eyes. I myself am enjoying spotting other Advent calendars around the blogs, Alessandra has shared her family's beautiful one made by her mother-in-law. I also really like this idea made with muffin pans and magnetic covers. Do you have an Advent calendar? Perhaps you have 4 candles on your dining table, one for each Sunday? I would love to see or hear about how your family counts the days towards Christmas, please feel free to share them in the comments section below. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
